The theme of this project was the phrase "paint it black". I set out to create a piece focusing on the heaviness, mysteriousness, and command for attention that the color inherently implies.
The basis of the project was to create a 3-minute piece based on the word "alchemy". I wanted to focus on medicine, its chemical properties, and its chemical breakdowns. I chose to focus my piece on the aspects of a "medicinal cocktail," bringing to light what can occur within our bodies along with the potential for abuse of these substances.
For this piece, I collaborated on an open-ended project. We limited ourselves to an hour to brainstorm an idea, film, and edit the video. The sound was created by layering various sound bytes of glass and wind instruments. The video deals with time, cyclical themes, and repetition.
